CASUAL ROMAN SHADE
The beginning of all roman shades. Constructed with no structural support, the rings are sewn directly to the back of the shade. This shade style works best with fabrics that you don't want to break the pattern. If solid fabric is used, it will have a very flat appearance when in the down position.

The Casual shade can have many variations that will give it a more Soft look (See variations under Soft Roman Shade Styles). This shade is the least expensive to make and requires the least fabric. Stack height on this shade, as well as on the Back-slat, Front-slat, and Single-tuk is the least of all of the shade styles.

BACK SLAT FLAT ROMAN SHADE
One of the most popular styles. Horizontal rods (slats) are spaced down the body of the shade to give weight and to assist the shade in folding. By doing so this shade has a very good look in solid fabrics. Print patterns are not good for this style, due to the fact that you will lose the continuity of the pattern. The Back Slat adapts well to the use of SheerWeave creating a Solar Shade.

Fabric requirement is 1.75x's more than length. Stack height on this shade and on Casual, Front Slat, and Single Tuk is the least of all of the shade styles.

Variations on this style are the Top-Down Bottom-Up and the Front Slat shades.

TOP-DOWN BOTTOM-UP ROMAN SHADE
Maintain privacy without closing yourself completely off from the outside world with this very versatile shade. The Top Down-Bottom Up feature adapts well with the Back Slat Flat Roman Shade.
FRONT SLAT ROMAN SHADE
The sibling to the Back Slat but the slats are on the front side of the shade, which gives it a much more defined look. Slats assist the shade in folding as well as give weight, both visually and structurally. This shade is more rare -- very few workrooms want to make this shade, for it takes more care to make sure the rods are level all the way across the face of the shade.

Some people think of a "Shoji" look with this shade, but it actually looks great in any "ethnic style" of room or if you want to draw the eye out to help make a room seem wider. Solid and small print fabric's works best for this style. Fabric requirement is 1.75x's more than length. Stack height on this shade as well as Casual, Back Slat, and Single Tuk is the least of all of the shade styles.

SINGLE TUK ROMAN SHADE
A great way to give a tailored shade a softer appearance. Spacing grommets across the shade, versus sewing seams across the shade, creates the tuks, which gives a softer look. This shade adapts well to any fabric because of the grommets.

Stack height on this shade as well as Casual, Back Slat, and Front Slat, is the least of all shades. Fabric requirement is 1.75x's more than length.

DOUBLE TUK ROMAN SHADE
Constructed the same as a Single Tuk, but you get two tuks per panel, which adds more interest. This shade is a great compromise between the three Tuk styles -- not as formal as a Triple and not as understated as the Single.

This shade adapts well to any fabric due to the grommets. Fabric requirement is 2x's more than length.

TRIPLE TUK ROMAN SHADE
This is one of the most elegant tailored shades. Three Tuks per panel gives a more formal look to this shade. By using a more casual fabric, this shade will give a less formal look, but will still have a more dress-up appearance. This shade adapts well to any fabric due to the grommets. Fabric requirement is 2.5x's more than length.
SOFT FOLD ROMAN SHADE
(a.k.a. Hobble) This shade has a cascading look to it. It's best for smaller windows, since the cascading can over-weight a room and be a bit heavy to lift in larger sizes. A great look for boys' rooms, libraries, bathrooms, and kitchens.

Solids, Damask, and Striped fabric work very well on this style of shade. Prints are lost due to the cascading of the shade. The fabric requirement for this shade is 2x's the shade length + 24".
