SEWN SHADE EDGES
Grass and other loosely woven materials are cleanly stitched on the edges. The color-matched stitching is barely visible, but dramatically increases the durability of shade cloth edges. Edges maintain a clean appearance with greatly reduced fraying over time compared to other. |

WRAPPED HEADRAIL
The solid timber headrail is carefully wrapped in the same fabric as the shade cloth for a clean, finished appearance. For materials too thick to wrap, the headrail is hand-stained a coordinating hue. Others use inexpensive unfinished raw wood. |

SUPERB EDGE BINDING
 Most shade materials are available with 1 3/4" edge binding. The binding wraps around front and back and is carefully sewn on for a clean, finished appearance. The mitered corners have a tailored design much more attractive than glued-on banding available from others. See Optional Edge Binding page. |

BEST LINING DESIGN
Tailored construction and hand-finishing neatly attaches the optional lining to the shade. Exclusive jute-colored lining is used with most materials to naturally blend with all but white patterns. Others use stark white lining poorly attached to the shade. See Privacy Options page. |

BEST VALANCE RETURNS
Hand-crafted valance returns are carefully laminated and recessed into the ends of the shade for a clean appearance on outside mounted shades. This Castec exclusive design eliminates the cheap-looking eyesore most other valance return designs create. |
